Product Notes

Set in the fictional Japanese town of Daikoku, the testing ground for an Augmented Reality project, Dennou Coil creates an environment in which cyberspace overlaps with the entire town and it's citizens. By using specific glasses they are able to interact with this overlapping cyberspace whereby the normalcy of their lives connects with an internet that concentrates all modern portable media devices (phones, MP3 players, laptop) into one set of non-intrusive glasses. However, a hacker culture is emerging amongst the children of the city. Yasako, a girl new to Daikoku, discovers the community known as the Cyber investigation Agency and is soon introduced to the wily Isako whose powers for hunting computer viruses known as 'illegals' belie motives that might harbor a sinister agenda. Dennou Coil is in equal parts charming and sophisticated, an ideal fantasy sci-fi for story for children.
